January 16, 2021 - The third and final round of the 'Sunshine Nationals' took center stage tonight at Volusia Speedway Park, as the World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series sanctioned another $10,000 to win shootout. In qualifying at the Daytona Beach-area facility, Chris Madden posted the eighth quickest lap in Group B during the qualifying session before placing seventh in his stacked heat race. Chris then rallied to finish fourth in his B-Main, but that was one mere spot away from a coveted transfer position into the 40-lap headliner that was ultimately won by Kyle Strickler.
January 15, 2021 - Persistent rain showers creating saturated grounds at Volusia Speedway Park have forced World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series and track officials to cancel tonight's event at the Barberville, Florida speedplant. Round two of the 'Sunshine Nationals' will not be rescheduled, but action will resume at VSP on Saturday evening.
January 14, 2021 - The 2021 season for the Chris Madden Racing (CMR) team kicked off tonight at Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, Florida with the opening show of the three-race 'Sunshine Nationals.' The World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series presided over the 'Speedweeks' lid lifter and a $10,000 payday was up for grabs. Chris Madden laid down the seventh fastest lap in Group B during the qualifying session prior to landing the fourth and final transfer spot through his stacked heat race. After rolling off from the outside of the seventh row in the 40-lap feature event, Chris battled hard for a top ten finish and eventually crossed underneath the checkers in the thirteenth finishing position.
MADDEN WRAPS UP 2020 SEASON WITH PODIUM EFFORT
December 13, 2020- The 2020 racing season for Chris Madden Racing (CMR) wrapped up on Saturday, December 12 with a daytime affair at Lavonia Speedway in Lavonia, Georgia. The Drydene Xtreme DIRTcar Series sanctioned their third event of the winter miniseries and 22 competitors showed up for the $5,000 to win duel. Chris Madden stopped the clock second fastest overall during the qualifying session prior to securing a victory in his heat race. After redrawing the sixth starting position prior to the drop of the green flag in the 40-lap A-Main, 'Smokey' steered his #44 Drydene-sponsored machine past a trio of competitors en route to a strong third place podium performance behind only race winner Michael Brown and runner-up Kenny Collins! December 6, 2020- The ninth feature win of 2020 for Chris Madden came on Saturday afternoon, December 5 in the Drydene Xtreme DIRTcar Series-sanctioned 'Grinch 40' at Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, Tennessee! Chris knocked down the second fastest lap overall during the qualifying session before securing a victory in heat race action. After drawing the sixth starting position prior to the start of the 40-lap headliner, Chris bolted past early leader Scott Bloomquist to grab the point on the ninth circuit. 'Smokey' then cruised the rest of the distance to collect the $5,000 top prize for besting a top five that included Donald McIntosh, Kyle Strickler, Trent Ivey, and Benji Hicks! MADDEN NABS SECOND BILLY CLANTON CLASSIC TITLE!
November 23, 2020- 'Smokey' Chris Madden recorded his second career 'Billy Clanton Classic' title on Saturday night, November 21 at Senoia Raceway in Senoia, Georgia! After posting the quickest lap in Group B during time trials and winning his heat race, Chris started the 60-lap Schaeffer's Oil Fall Nationals Series headliner from the outside of the front row. He then drove past leader Shane Clanton to grab the point on the thirteenth circuit and led the remainder of the feature distance to secure the $10,000 windfall ahead of Mike Marlar, Billy Moyer, Jr., Ashton Winger, and Michael Page!
On Sunday afternoon, November 22, another $10,000 top prize was up for grabs in the 30th edition of the 'Blue/Gray 100' at Cherokee Speedway in Gaffney, South Carolina. Chris struggled a bit during Drydene Xtreme DIRTcar Series qualifying and later placed fifth in his loaded heat race. After rolling off from the outside of the seventh row in the 100-lapper, the Gray Court, South Carolina standout drove a smart race and inherited the lead on lap 75 amidst a flurry of flat tires. Unfortunately, Chris suffered his own flat Hoosier tire while leading on lap 92 and was forced to settle for a disappointing twelfth place effort in the prestigious race that he has won six times in his career. SMOKEY WINS $12,000 IN COTTON PICKIN' FINALE!
November 15, 2020- Chris Madden, of Gray Court, South Carolina, picked up his seventh feature win of 2020 on Saturday night, November 14 in the 'Magnolia State Cotton Pickin 100' finale at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, Mississippi! Chris earned Fast Time honors during the qualifying session before running second in his loaded heat race. 'Smokey' then rolled off from the inside of the third row and quickly made his way to the front of the stellar field. He took the lead from Tyler Erb on lap 23 and led the remainder of the 70-lap feature event to bag the $12,000 winner's share ahead of Tim McCreadie, Billy Moyer, Jr., Chris Ferguson, and Tyler Erb!
Earlier in the 'Magnolia State Cotton Pickin 100' weekend, a $4,000 top prize was on the line in Friday's lid lifter. Chris posted the second fastest lap in Group A during the qualifying session prior to slipping to third in his heat race. November 6, 2020- Chris Madden Racing (CMR) helped wrap up the 2020 World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series schedule on November 4-5 at the pristine Dirt Track at Charlotte in Concord, North Carolina. A pair of $12,000 winner's checks were up for grabs at the Charlotte-area speedplant in an event dubbed as the 'Last Call.' On Wednesday night, Chris Madden ran third in his loaded heat race, but suffered an unfortunate flat Hoosier tire in the 50-lap main event. 'Smokey' then rallied back through the pack to salvage an eleventh place performance in the 'Last Call' opener.
At Charlotte on Thursday evening, another $12,000 payday was on the line for the 50 car field. Chris laid down the eighth fastest lap in Group B during qualifying before running second in heat race action. October 4, 2020- Gray Court, South Carolina star Chris Madden rebooted his #44 Chris Madden Racing (CMR) team in recent weeks and debuted a new XR1 Rocket Chassis over the October 2-3 weekend and promptly visited World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series victory lane! On Friday night at Cherokee Speedway in Gaffney, South Carolina, Chris timed in fifth quickest in Group A during qualifying and ran third in his heat race before climbing to third to land on the podium in the 50-lap 'Mike Duvall Memorial' behind only $10,000 winner Brandon Overton and runner-up Brandon Sheppard.
At 411 Motor Speedway in Seymour, Tennessee on Saturday evening, Chris swept the night by earning Fast Time honors during qualifying, winning his heat race, and coming out on top of the A-Main to claim his sixth overall win of 2020.
